I believe yoga is a journey that goes way beyond the mat, and enjoy bringing in spiritual aspect, traditional and meditation practices. My classes are a blend of breath work, mindful movement, and Vinyasa flow style. My practice is designed to help you connect, find balance and peace for yourself. I try to bring a calm, and grounding energy to each class session.
I have been teaching and practicing Yoga and Pilates for over 25 years. I have completed a 200/300RYT Vinyasa Flow at Yoga One in Cedarburg. I also have certifications in Sport Yoga, Aerial, Barre, Pilates, Kickboxing, Personal Trainer, and Nutrition.
I am registered with the Yoga Alliance as a 500 E-RYT and YACEP (Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider). I enjoy offering a variety of classes and workshops.
When I'm not on the mat I enjoy gardening, hiding, dog walks, cooking and slow days with my family. Hope to see you soon at our Roots family. Meet you on the mat! Namaste'

Mary Jo S, a seasoned yoga practitioner and instructor with over a decade of experience, has found immense joy and therapeutic benefits in yoga. After retiring from the corporate world, she discovered that yoga was not just a hobby but a powerful tool for personal growth and well-being.
Yoga is not just a passion for her; it’s a way for her to share her expertise and inspire others. Her classes encourage students to embark on a gentle yet challenging flow of postures, fostering self-acceptance and self-discovery during their practice. As the class draws to a close, Mary Jo often dedicates the last few minutes to Restorative poses, allowing students to quiet their minds and bodies. During the summer, Mary Jo loves teaching the sunrise yoga session at North Beach.
In 2017, Mary Jo completed her teacher training through Yoga Roots Racine, earning her Yoga Alliance RYT 200 certification. Beyond her RYT 200 certification, Mary Jo is also certified as an instructor in Restorative Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Mat Pilates.
Mary Jo teaches the Morning yoga on Thursdays, during the school year it is 8am in the studio and during the summer it is a sunrise yoga on North Beach at 6:30 am. All levels are welcome.

Heather sought out yoga to be kinder to her body while still strengthening about 14 years ago (2001). She fell in love with the shapes you could make with your whole being. Heather loves teaching a slower pace, creative & unexpected stretch & slow flow giving her students flexibility & a little zen with each class. Heather believes your mat can become a retreat from the everyday, giving yourself moments to breathe & feel your body.
Heather teaches the Wednesday morning Hatha class, chair yoga on Friday mornings, and also teaches the 8am summer Bend and Brew class outside.

Namaste - It is Dottie-Kay’s honor and privilege to be part of the Yoga Roots Renew Team. She engages in yoga due to its mind-body connection and health benefits such as reducing stress, enhanced emotional wellbeing and improved physical fitness. Yoga is a low-impact exercise emphasizing the core principles of postures, breath, and focus and can be engaged by anyone.
Her foundation is Hatha Yoga which is often thought of as the “Root” of yoga practice. It has a slower, steady tempo and is a balance between the physical practice of yoga with emphasis on alignment, breath, and balance. It is a foundational practice adaptable to different bodies and abilities with the option of modifications through the utilization of props.
Dottie-Kay has been practicing the art of yoga for over a decade and completed her teacher training at Yoga Roots Racine, earning her Yoga Alliance RYT 200 certification. Yoga is a wonderful experience that through regular practice brings about a heightened connection between the spirit, mind, and body. Unlock the best version of yourself through building energy and calming your mind at Yoga Roots Renew.

My journey to yoga began as a way to find balance and peace in my own life. On the journey, I discovered a desire to help others do the same. I received my Yoga Training at Long Island Yoga School and have been teaching for close to a decade. My goal is to share my love of yoga with all who come to practice. I am a 200 Hour Yoga Alliance RYT with certifications in Yin & Restorative.

Hi, I'm Tamara, 500E-RYT. With 12 years of teaching experience, I’m passionate about the breath-movement-clear mind connection in yoga. My goal is to bring you joy on the mat and inspire a lifelong commitment to self-care through a variety of yoga classes. Can't wait to see you!

Kat is a 200-hour RYT–certified yoga instructor who earned her certification at her home studio in Delafield. Her teaching style is inspired by the dynamic movement of Ashtanga yoga, thoughtfully blended with breathwork and meditation to create an energizing yet grounding practice.
Kat began her yoga journey over seven years ago, before welcoming her two daughters, Aria and Sienna. What started as a way to relax and unwind, gradually grew into a deeper passion as she explored different teaching styles and studios across the U.S. through her daytime career. Along the way, she discovered the powerful ways yoga can support both the body and mind.
As her practice evolved, Kat chose to pursue her certification to strengthen her personal practice and deepen her understanding of yoga anatomy and tradition. Today, she finds joy in sharing space with communities she loves—guiding others through mindful movement while continuing to explore her own presence and awareness on the mat.

My name is Ashley M and I have been teaching yoga for over 10 years. I love how yoga is a transformation of the mind, body, and soul. The power of breath and movement is the power of life. I teach a variety of classes including, but not limited to: chair yoga, yoga for relaxation, and Unwind & Restore. I volunteer a few times a year and teach at multiple venues including schools, libraries, and individual special events. I look forward to you growing your practice with me. Namaste
Private Lessons: Ashley is also available to book private individual or small group yoga lessons and beginning meditation sessions.

Hi, I am Maurisa. My yoga journey began in 2015. For me, yoga is a mind-body-soul connection - when I started yoga I felt compelled to move my body for a spiritual purpose and it brought me great fulfillment. It became a dream to become a certified yoga instructor. I received my 200 YTT in 2026 through Yoga Renew, a provider accredited by Yoga Alliance.
My approach is rooted in offering yoga as a mind AND body exercise. I enjoy sprinkling yoga philosophy into class themes and meditations. The hope is that certain concepts resonate with my students and continue to provide benefits on and off the mat. I believe yoga builds beautiful connections and a strong sense of community. I believe yoga can make us a healthier and happier society. Overall, my main goal as a yoga practitioner, is to teach yoga with respect to its roots and to leave my students feeling just a little bit happier.

Yoga has been a part of my life for nearly 20 years, and it continues to be a source of joy, healing, and transformation. For the past four years, I’ve found a home at Yoga Roots Renew, where the welcoming space and inspiring teachers encouraged me to take the next step—training to become a teacher myself. I’m currently enrolled in a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training certification course through Yoga Renew, and I’m excited to share what I learn with others.
My practice is also deeply rooted in meditation. In the early 2000s, I studied Zen meditation for four years at the Original Root Zen Center in Racine. Since then, I’ve guided meditation and breathwork sessions, helping others discover the calm and clarity these practices bring.
Yoga has truly transformed my life, and I feel grateful every day for the opportunity to grow, learn, and share this journey with the community.
I currently substitute teach some classes at the studio as a student teacher and also teach meditation.
Private Lessons: Alison is available to teach private yoga lessons to beginners, and basic beginner meditation.
